Visual Surf season start event at Surfari

Simon has been working as a surf instructor and lifeguard for several years and has looked after clients from all over the world in various surf camps. Around three years ago, he accidentally taught a group of deaf people how to surf for several weeks in Morocco. He didn't know sign language and quickly realized that a surfing course would be much easier and more inclusive if he could communicate in sign language. For this reason, he is now studying sign language interpreting and is committed to making surfing more barrier-free, easier and more accessible for people with hearing impairments

This is why Simon founded Visual Surf. Visual Surf combines surfing with signing and offers surfing in the German-Swiss sign language DSGS. The events are accessible to anyone who can communicate in DSGS. Regardless of whether you are deaf, hard of hearing or hearing; Regardless of whether you have a cochlear implant, hearing aids or no hearing aid: everyone is welcome!

His surf camp will take place in DSGS in Portugal in June 2024 and to start the season there will be an aperitif and a small surf movie in the Surfari surf shop on Stauffacher. Everyone is invited for a few drinks and a few snacks and it should be a cozy get together for surfers.
