Vissla

Vissla was founded by Paul Naude in San Clemente, California, in 2013. Naude, a former professional surfer from South Africa, previously served as president of Billabong USA and brought deep industry knowledge to the table. His goal with Vissla was to create a brand that emphasizes the creative and artisanal aspects of surfing, rather than competitive sports. The name Vissla is an invention with no direct linguistic origin, but it carries a clear brand philosophy: "By Surfers, For Surfers," with a focus on sustainable materials and craftsmanship.

Vissla consciously positions itself as an alternative to large, publicly traded surf corporations: smaller collections, more sustainable materials, and close collaboration with a curated group of surfers and artists. The range includes boardshorts made from recycled materials, T-shirts, hoodies, shirts, and a growing line of accessories. The boardshorts are a particular highlight: with various lengths and cut variations, made from high-quality stretch fabrics and eco-friendly materials, they have established themselves as a serious alternative to traditional brands.
