Futures Fins develop surfboard fins for professional surfers such as surf champion John John Florence, world tour surfer Jordy Smith and free surf legend Rob Machado.

The Futures fins are characterized by their ride number from 0 - 10. Fins with a ride number between 1 and 4 represent speed control in strong and good waves. Fins with a ride number between 4 and 7 are balanced for all around and average wave conditions. Fins in the Speed Generating category with a ride number between 7 and 10 are suitable for flatter waves if you want to take every bit of speed with you.

Futures Fins was founded in 1996 in a garage in California.
The Longo brothers were known for developing sophisticated aerospace parts and producing hydrogen fuel cells for research. In 1996, they decided to combine their technical expertise with something they loved. Surfing. Building locally has always been important to them, and that allows us at Futures to dream, design, cut and surf a fin - all within a few hours under one roof in Huntington Beach. With this ability we constantly evolve our designs and create new feelings and new experiences. Sharing these new innovations with other surfers drives us to evolve.

As innovators, we strive to improve and never settle. Every wave is an opportunity to develop, learn and grow. Surfers have been riding waves for hundreds of years, and with great respect we continue to develop our surfing equipment with feedback from the best surfers and shapers in the world. We continue to learn together so that we can provide beginner surfers all the way up to world champions with the right product and clear information so they can easily adjust their equipment. That's why we invest our resources in tools like The Ride Number and a suite of in-house engineers, rather than relying on the next flashy advertising campaign.

We believe this is why surfers around the world look to Futures as the ultimate source for exceptional performance surf gear, designed by surfers, for surfers. It's about being authentic, questioning the status quo and standing for the further development of our sport. Sometimes it's even about going beyond what seems reasonable, because we believe that we can only find our limits if we try to exceed them. That's why we were the first to produce a pre-laminated fin box that gets its strength from the fiberglass fabric. Later, as surfers tested the limits of waves that were no longer paddle-friendly, we were the first to develop stiff, stable big-wave fins.
We continue to develop new products like Alpha and tools like Ride Number. And that is just the beginning. We would like to tell you more about the next products that are coming, but we can't. At least not yet. Thank you for joining us on this journey.
